Dear Member,

We are pleased that after the government announcement last night the golf course is able to open on Wednesday 13th May.

The golf course will be open 18 holes to MEMBERS who have renewed only. The following groupings will be permitted:
• Individuals playing golf on their own
• Two-balls from the same household (if there are more that 2 in your household playing you must contact the office and we can discuss how we can accommodate you)
• Two-balls comprising of individuals from different households
We will also allow a household individual to play at a guest rate with a member of Burghill Valley Golf Club. They will need to pay a guest fee of £15 weekdays and £20 weekend in advance of playing, and provide their details to the office or pro shop. This is because some members may want to keep to just playing with someone from their household.

We have been given detailed information from England Golf directing the rules and measures put in place to make sure that golf remains safe. You cannot play if you have any of the coronavirus symptoms or any of your household are experiencing symptoms. If you are also suffering from a cold, cough or flu please keep away until your symptoms have gone.

Course Set-up
• All rakes and benches are removed from the course, ball washers, bins and bells will be covered up to prevent touching. Please take all rubbish with you and dispose at your home.
• Flagsticks will remain in however must not be touched. The cup inside the hole will be turned over therefore your ball will be sat at the top of the hole and you will not need to touch anything else to retrieve your ball.
• All practice areas will be closed this includes putting area, chipping green, practice nets and the practice area near the 10th tee.

Before the Round
• You must book a tee time online, we are using the Club V1 app (or call the office if you cannot use the app) the tee times are separated by 10 minutes. This is to ensure the safety of staff and golfers.
• You can only book one tee time per person
• You can only play with someone from your household, or one other person.
• We are taking no cash at this time, if you need to make payments please pay using contactless or by calling in advance to pay over the phone.
• Associate members will need to use their app to update their green fee purse and then let the pro shop or office know your card number to deduct the green fee. Or you can call in advance of your booking and pay for your green fee.
• First tee time 8am – last tee time 5pm for the time being
• The maximum number of golfers per tee time is 2 at present.

Arrival and Waiting to Play
• You must arrive no more than 10 minutes before your tee time, you must be clothed and change your shoes and prepare for your round by your car in the car park.
• When parking you must park at least 2 metres from other cars.
• In case of emergency you can use the toilet facilities in the clubhouse, the door will be locked however you will be let in by a member of staff and must sanitise on entering and leaving.
• The on course toilets will be open and have sanitisers available there.
• The pro shop will be open from 8am-1pm please let them know when you go to play so they can check you off the list. After 1pm a member of staff will be available in the office.
• You must walk to the 1st tee directly from your car 2-3 minutes before your time
• Please sanitise your hands using the sanitiser provided on the starters hut
• You must use your own golf equipment
• Trolleys can be hired and will be sanitised before and after every use.
• Buggies are unavailable at this time (buggies may be permitted if you have a medical certificate this needs to be arranged with the club 24 hours before playing)
• If you have a locker we will make these available for you to collect your equipment safely. You must let the club know prior to arriving that you need to use the locker room, there is sanitiser on the entrance and only one person is to enter at a time.

During the Round
• Social distancing must always be observed
• Keep 2 metres apart at teeing areas and anywhere else on the course
• If there is a congregation at a tee please keep 2m apart.
• Do not touch any stray balls
• Do not touch or remove any flagsticks during play. The hole has been adapted to make it easier to retrieve your ball.
• Bunkers will be GUR

After the round
• It is important that when you have finished playing you leave the course straight away.
• There is hand sanitiser placed on the way out and you must use the route to the car park that is directed, walking past the shoe cleaner and straight to your car. (the shoe cleaner is switched off and cannot be used)
• This will prevent any crossing of players turning up to play and coming off the course.

The Office
• The office will be open for enquiries Monday- Friday 8.30am-4pm
• If you would like to pay for your membership we can take this by bank transfer, payment over the phone or cheque. If you would like to pay in person please call the office to book an appointment and you will be directed on how this process will be done.
• Staff will be observing the tee sheet daily and will be deleting non-members and members that have booked multiple tee times.

The golf course has come on really well and the green keepers have been working hard throughout the lockdown period to keep the course in good condition. The two teams have been working on different days to keep themselves safe and to cover the hours if a team becomes unwell. This has meant that they have been short of 10 hours of staff each week and this will continue. Therefore if there are things that need actioning please be patient with the greenkeeping staff.

When you arrive for your booked tee time at Burghill Valley Golf Club during the period of the COVID-19 outbreak, you agree that you are entering at your own risk and agree to adhere to all restrictions mentioned above and any verbal instructions given to you when you arrive at Burghill Valley Golf Club.

If you have:
• COVID-19
• Been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, or is suspected to have COVID-19 or is in self-isolation
• A fever (i.e. 37.5 degrees or above) or respiratory symptoms (e.g sore throat, cough, shortness of breath)
You are NOT permitted to enter the premises and golf course at Burghill Valley Golf Club.

Should any member be observed to breach playing and safety protocols, they will be requested to leave immediately.

These measures are the steps we are taking to make golf a safe environment, however they are subject to change and we will keep you updated whenever changes are made.

Welcome back. The course is open to members only, you must book your tee times online using the club V1 app (do not use BRS). All terms and conditions for playing have been emailed to all members and are on the club website and by playing you are agreeing to follow these conditions. Play safe, stay safe.
